NOTE: One of our readers left a comment letting us know that this splash pad does not actually exist. This splash pad is not listed on the city website, but it is listed in the open data catalogue which may be out of date. We’ve changed the status of this splashpad to GONE.
Lawson Park has a tall wooden structure that obviously was once a water tower. However, we were unable to locate a start button. This pad is obviously closed.

This splash pad actually does not exist. There may have been one there at some point, but there’s no sign of one anymore.
Hey Andrea, thanks for letting us know. It’s not listed on the city of Ottawa splashpad list, but it was listed in the Open Data catalogue as “open (presumed).” There are a few splash pads that we have to add or take away from our website. Thanks for helping!
I have spoken to the councillor for this area; the Lawson Park splash pad is being revamped. Slated to reopen in August this year (2014); so that means splash pad fun in 2015, no doubt! 🙂
The Lawson park splash pad has not worked for over 30 years. The city spends thousands to upkeep a Lawson park baseball diamond that no one uses. The state of the park’s paved pathways is bad, bumpy and lumpy with broken asphalt sections. Park trees are poorly maintained. I could not find any splash pad plans anywhere for perusal. Has the city set aside any funding for the upkeep and maintenance of the splash pad and park or will this splash pad be inoperative in a few years like the last one?
that’s awesome news. thanks for speaking up. i grew up in this area and this water pad has been abandoned for a while now. it should help revive some of this park. next is the baseball diamond. 🙂
Hi I read that this splash pad was supposed to be open this year 2015 there still isn’t anything? Are they no longer fixing it?
The splash has been renovated and is now open. My children love it. There are fountains of all sizes and shapes. They now ask to go everyday.
Hi Lisa,
We just visited the new and improved pad today. It’s awesome! We’ll be updating our information very soon.
