DR. JOHN HOPPS PARK Splash Pad

Dr. John Hopps Park has a modern, inviting splash pad with many different devices rotating through a fairly long cycle.  At any given time there is water coming out from somewhere and you need to move quickly if you’re trying to avoid getting wet.

The splash pad itself has little shade as the park is fairly new.  There is a gazebo nearby and a playstructure at the park.

THORNECLIFFE PARK Splash Pad

The splash pad at Thornecliffe Park is a basic ground jets pad.  It has seven jets of different strengths.  The timer is short but it’s located on the top of a post of a height easy enough for young children to reach.

There is a gazebo at the park and a playstructure.  The slides on the structure are metal so it’s harder to use in the summer sun.

GERALD POULIN PARK Splash Pad

Gerald Poulin has an older splash pad.  It consists of one wooden post with medium strength sprays from three of the sides.

The park is a bit unique.  There is a paved track that runs around the splash pad that would be nice for young ones learning to ride or blade.  There is plenty of shade at the park and several benches and picnic tables.  There is a play structure, hill, and field at the park.

CITIPLACE PARK Splash Pad

A new splash pad with some innovative structures and jets.  We were especially impressed with the Aqualien Power Spinner (aka cool spinning flower).

Although it’s a new park the city built a gazebo for shade.  There is also a play structure at this park.

McCARTHY PARK Splash Pad

A novel themed splash pad.  The pad is shaped like a lily pad.  The structures at the park include a froggy archway and a cattail post.  This one was our daughter’s favourite of the day – it’s a nice splash pad for more hesitant splashers.  The pressure is gentle and there is nothing unpredictable or that can be targeted at others.

There are many older trees at this park so there is plenty of shade.  There are also swings and a playstructure at the park.

OWL PARK Splash Pad

An unusual splash pad.  It’s quite a large pad; painted a light blue pool colour.  The pad is located in an older neighbourhood so there is plenty of shade and benches available.  There is a pirate ship play structure located nearby.
