PALMERSTON PARK Splash Pad

Palmerston Park Splash Pad is a simple pad with a yellow metal post that mists water out three sides.  There is also a playstucture in this cool, shaded park.

If you drive one minute more down Palmerston Drive, you’ll end up at City Centre Park which has a more elaborate splash pad and larger park.

SHEFFIELD GLEN PARK Splash Pad

Sheffield Glen Park Splash Pad is a simple pad in a large, older park.  The start button turns on three very powerful fountain sprays that shoot up and out into the pad.  The streams seem a bit off centre and most of the water goes to one side off the pad.

The park is quite spacious and shaded.  There is a playstructure and swing beside the splash pad.

CARDINAL GLEN PARK Splash Pad

Cardinal Glen Park Splash Pad is an older park located in the community of Cardinal Glen.  It has a simple wood post that sprays water out three of it’s sides.

The park itself would be nice for younger children.  The park is fenced in on all sides, has plenty of shade, places to eat, and a few smaller structures to play in.

(The city of Ottawa open data says this splash pad is closed and under repair, but when we visited, the wooden post splash pad turned on just fine… Mind you, it is a wooden post.) read more

QUEENSWOOD RIDGE PARK Splash Pad (OLD REVIEW)

This splash pad has been renovated. Click here to see current photos.

Queenswood Ridge Park Splash Pad is an older splash pad with a unique feature – a small red water slide. (But it’s still a basic old wooden post splash pad.) You’ll need a friend to hold the button down for the water slide to work.

The park near the pad is quite large.  There is plenty of shade in the park, a large hill, fields and a running track, a rink, and several playstructures.

GARDENWAY PARK Park Splash Pad

Gardenway Park Splash Pad is a newer pad whose main attraction is a tall green post with a dumping bucket and a spinning flower.  The water cycle is quite long and the pressure is high – this is a great place to get very, very wet.

Gardenway Park is quite large.  It’s an older park so there is plenty of shade and fields to run in.  There are swings and playstructures a short walk away from the splash pad.

We noticed there is also a great hill for tobogganing and an outdoor rink.  This is a park we’ll check out in the winter, too. read more

JOE JAMIESON PARK Splash Pad

Joe Jamieson Park Splash Pad is an older splash pad with one large red post.  The water pressure is extremely high and there is an impressive amount of spray coming out of the post.

The park next to the splash pad has plenty of shade, some swings, and a playstructure.
