FAWN MEADOW PARK Splash Pad

We didn’t see any deer when we went, but there’s a fantastic splash pad at Fawn Meadow Park. (We did see a deer crossing sign driving in, however.)

This is a new park, but already there’s a lot going for it. The gazebo with the picnic table is a nice shady spot to watch your kids splash around, but there may not be enough room for everybody. One family brought their own beach umbrella and camped out on the grass which was a great idea. When the trees get bigger, this will be a very nice park. read more

PRIMROSE PARK Splash Pad

Primrose Park is a brand new modern splash pad in Ottawa located close to Chinatown. There are plenty of picnic tables here with natural shade (but no gazebo.) There’s also a new modern treehouse theme playstructure so kids can cool down in the water and work up a sweat on the monkey bars.

WHITEROCK PARK Splash Pad

Whiterock Park Splash Pad is a simple splash pad with a blue post that sprays water out one side.

The splash pad is located on the border of the Aviation Parkway so there are plenty of trees.  There are a few older playstructures beside the pad.

PIAZZA DANTE PARK Splash Pad

Piazza Dante Park Splash Pad is the epitome of an urban park.  The lovely square is completely paved and bordered by tables and benches.  The splash pad is a group of eight fountains set in a star in the middle of the square.  It’s a fairly simple pad with a long cycle.

There is shade and plenty of places to sit in this square, but not much else to entertain little splashers.  It’s also located at the intersection of two very busy streets if containment is a concern.

PLOUFFE PARK Splash Pad

Plouffe Park Splash Pad is a fun urban splashpad located in a park area behind Plant Recreation Centre.  The splash pad is fairly large and features several fun structures like a rainbow arch.

The splash pad has some shade and is located near a gazebo structure.  There are also two playstructures in the park.  There are public washrooms available in the recreation centre.

MORRISON PARK Splash Pad

Morrison Park Splash Pad is a simple pad featuring a tall aquadome and three small sprays.  It took us a few tries to get the aquadome to turn on.

The park itself is quite nice.  It’s shaded and has swings, a gazebo, a playstructure, and plenty of room to sit.
